The currency used in the UAE, specifically in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is called Dirham, and 1 Dirham is equivalent to 925 MNT.
We recommend that you travel with US dollars from Mongolia. It is most advantageous to exchange your money at the airport of the country you land in. (For large amounts of money, it is better to exchange at a bank.)
All the places we will visit accept cards, and you only need to have an international card in MNT or USD. The fees may vary depending on the bank. Our travel itinerary includes the gold and spice markets of Dubai. If you plan to make purchases at the market, gold is approximately 10% cheaper, and spices and souvenirs can be discounted by 60-70%, so we advise you to negotiate well. Prices do not drop in places other than the market in Dubai. Also, if you need to take a taxi, just check the kilometers to calculate your fare.
There are only a few days left until our long-awaited trip begins. I am confident that you are all preparing well for the journey. 🥰 Let me remind you of some important items that will be useful during the trip, so please don’t forget to pack these in your bag.
In Dubai, you can use Facebook Messenger, but you cannot make calls. Therefore, please download Viber or BOTIM. Viber sometimes has issues. BOTIM is the best app that everyone in Dubai uses for connectivity.
Once you arrive in Dubai, you can go through passport control and purchase a SIM card (30-40 USD). If you run out of data and need to recharge, download the "DU" app and recharge using your international card.
