Can I travel to Jeju after a visa refusal?
It depends on the refusal reason. Which reasons still allow booking, and which we advise against.
The most common question we hear about Jeju: can I travel if my Korean visa was refused?
It depends on the reason code on your refusal.
How to check your refusal reason
- Online at www.visa.go.kr.
- If you cannot check it, or you have lost the passport, go to the Korean embassy in person with your ID at 11:00 on a working day and file a request. Collect the answer in person at 14:00 the next day.
Reasons that do not stop you booking
- ✅ Passport had expired
- ✅ Documents establishing the purpose of travel were not supplied
- ✅ Purpose of travel was unclear
- ✅ Other — could not be reached by phone; additional requested documents not supplied; passport withdrawn at your own request
Reasons we advise against booking
- ❌ Covered by Article 11(1) of the Immigration Act (entry right revoked)
- ❌ Previously overstayed a Korean visa, or broke the law while resident
- ❌ Did not meet the residence conditions set by Korean immigration
- ❌ Submitted falsified documents
- ❌ Employment letter could not be verified
- ❌ Spoken or written statements did not match the facts
- ❌ Other submitted documents could not be verified
- ❌ Financial standing did not evidence a return within the visa period
- ❌ The inviting party had no right to invite, or people they previously invited stayed illegally
- ❌ Relationship to the inviting party could not be proven
Please note
No travel company can decide whether you are admitted to Korea. That decision belongs to the Korean border officer. From years of experience we advise anyone holding a ❌ refusal above not to take the risk.
